Goa is well connected by airlines to all major cities in India. Goa has 2 international airport located in both the districts of the state. The Dabolim Airport is located in South airport near the port town of Vasco-da-Gama. The newly opened New Goa International Airport (GOX) also known as MOPA International Airport. And officially renamed as Manohar International Airport is located in South of Goa.

GOI – Dabolim International Airport is located in Dabolim, 30 kms from the capital city of Panaji and is owned by the Indian Navy. It is the only airport in the state and operates as a civil enclave in a military airbase named INS Hansa. Vasco da Gama is the nearest city located at a distance of just 4 kilometres and about 23 kilometres from Margao.

The airport’s integrated terminal building handles both international and domestic passengers. The 36,000 square meter terminal is designed to cater to five million passengers annually. It has 75 check-in counters, 22 immigration counters for departures and 18 immigration counters for arrivals.

Major airline operators such as Indigo, Air India, Spice Jet have flights carrying passengers and Cargo in and out of Goa. Besides this there are also a number of chartered flights that land in Goa from UK and other European countries.

New Goa International Airport – MOPA / Manohar International Airport

The new international airport at Mopa in Pernem located in North Goa district in the state of Goa serves North Goa and the adjoining districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra, and as a second airport of Goa after Dabolim Airport in Dabolim and is located at 50kms away from each other.

The new airport intends to intends to improve air connectivity in Goa by facilitating the movement of civilian traffic into the state. The airport will be served by 42 direct flights each week from Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru by Go First, Indigo and other airlines.

Besides the scheduled flights, the airport will also receive unscheduled charter flights that are finding it difficult to find convenient slots at the Dabolim airport.

Taxis: Pre-paid taxis are available from the airport, but these are yellow and black colored, like government taxis. If you want to pre-book a cab you can use cabgoa.com, which is a leading taxi service in Goa.

Car rentals: Car rental facilities are available across the state. Multiple types of car rentals can be booked for airport transfers or the whole day, depending upon your requirement. There are a number of agencies that consider online bookings.

Shuttle: Shuttle services at affordable prices operate on a fixed route to Panaji and Calangute from Goa Airport, which depart from outside the airport premises.
