NM Physiological Bite: Establishing Physiologic Therapeutic Occlusion (40 minutes Lecture)
Abstract
The goal of this lecture is.to familiarize you with a reliable, measured, and precise concept of NM occlusion, applicable in restorative and other phases of dental practice, that will allow a relaxed mandibular position without pressure on the TMJ. To find and maintain this physiologic occlusal and mandibular position is critical in any treatment for a long term stability, especially in TMD patients. This lecture will be focused on teaching you how to integrate the use of ULF/TENS into your dental diary practice. Many topics will be covered in depth including:
  • The Role of ULF/TENS: without the use of TENS there is no NM.
  • The importance of identifying the physiologic Rest Position of the mandible, PRP and the NM Trayectory.
  • Selection the therapeutic NM Treatment position to be registered as the NM bite
  • The use of the NM bite registration during Phase I to fabricate the orthotic appliance and during phase II with permanent irreversible treatment.
  • ALL SESSION BY BEN AFFLECK
