TOPIC - Cranio Cervical Mandibular Dysfunction protocol – Why? How? When? (40 MIN)
The classic protocol for registering Myocentric position of the mandible involves ULF TENS of cranial nerves V & VII. A protocol to also relax cervical musculature by ULF TENS of CN XI was presented by the author at 2007 ICCMO conference, Vicenza, Italy. Further evolution of this protocol to optimize mandibular & cervical musculature, TM Joints, as well as cranio-cervical vertebrae that included craniocervical physical therapy techniques was presented by the author at 2011 ICCMO conference, Vancouver B.C., Canada proposing the term Cranio Cervical Mandibular Dysfunction (CCMD) to better describe the condition we treat. This technique has been called “Raman CCMD protocol’.
This presentation will describe the rationale for optimizing cervical posture, describe the individual components of Raman CCMD protocol, the rationale for each component and when to use this protocol.
Course objectives:
1. Understand the important relationship of cervical posture and mandibular posture.
2. Learn how to quickly evaluate the function of cranio-cervical spine
3. Learn the components of Raman CCMD protocol to optimize cervical posture
